The idea actually started somewhere unexpected — Nepal.
During that trip, Sherene and I found ourselves talking a lot about the things we love. Adventure has always been something that excites us. As much as we love these experiences, they can feel intimidating for someone new. When you don’t know anyone in that community, or you don’t know where to start, adventure can feel very far away.
As the founder of Homeals, my goal has never been only about making healthy food taste good. Food is just one part of the lifestyle we believe in.
Behind every meal is a way of living, right? moving, exploring, and experiencing life fully.
And we wanted to bring people into the things I love.
we hosted our very first Wet Christmas Party — a small gathering where people could experience the basics of freediving in a relaxed environment.
Instead of the ocean, we started in a pool.
We introduced simple freediving movements and breathing techniques so everyone could feel comfortable in the water. Hosting it in a beautiful hotel setting made the whole experience feel calm and welcoming!
A few participants loved the experience so much that they went on to get their freediving licenses afterwards.
Seeing that was incredibly rewarding.
Because it reminded me why we started this in the first place — sometimes what we need is just a small door to step into a new world.
And maybe that’s what Homeals is really about.
Not just food, but experiences.
Not just nutrition, but lifestyle.
What’s next? An underwater trip, perhaps? Hehe!
A heartfelt thank you to Team Shello for bringing this idea to life and making the experience possible for everyone!
